Anodization

Anodization changes the color of titanium and niobium body jewelry using electricity. There are no pigments or dyes involved. Along with the gorgeous color possibilities, this process makes for a smoother, more durable and bio-compatible surface. When hit with electricity, the surface of the body jewelry is cleaned at a microscopic level. Anodizing body jewelry also helps to prevent oxidation over time. Anodization can fade over time, but this is not harmful to your body piercing.

Anodizing Titanium and Niobium Body Jewelry by Brian Skellie
Any of the titanium or niobium pieces we sell can be anodized to a solid color of your choice at no additional cost. To have a piece anodized, simply write out which colors you would like your pieces anodized to in a list format when you check out using the 'Order special instructions' section.

We can also accept more intricate anodization requests such as polka dots, ombré, stripes and oil slick patterns. We will charge an additional fee per individual piece you would like anodized this way and may reach out if we have additional questions. The fee is paid via invoice sent to your email. The fee will vary depending on complication of the requests, but should be no more than $20 per piece. If the fee is not paid by the time your order is ready to ship, your piece(s) will not be anodized.

Example of what to include in your 'Order special instructions':

-14ga 1/2" Straight Shaft- Dark purple

-2 x 14ga 5/32" Ball Ends- Teal

-16ga 3/8" Circular Shaft and 16ga 1/8" Ball Ends: Dark blue with yellow gold polka dots

-Threadless 3mm Ocean Grey Bezel-set Gem End: Rose gold

Anodization effects vary and we cannot guarantee the piece will come out exactly how you envision. If you are dissatisfied with the result, unfortunately our strict no return policy still stands.
